::Friendly, child safe environment, awesome ribs, and possibly the best steaks I've had in a restaurant in years. Also have an in-house sushi bar which is top quality and super low prices

::The food was okay. It used to be better. We ordered coffee, the waitress did not bring sugar. My friend had to go look for her to ask. When she took our food order, I ordered Texas melt steak and she did not ask how I would like my steak done. She also didn't ask which sauce I would like as I had a choice of cheese or mushroom sauce. Again, I had to go inside and search for her to tell her how I'd want my steak. (apparently she decided, based on who knows what, that medium would be the safest bet. That's literally what she said.) Then when we got our food, she didn't ask again if we would like something to drink. The food was almost done and I was so thirsty. I went to go look for her for the third time to ask for some water. I found her chatting outside by the front door. She sent someone else with the water, not on even on a tray and without the lemon I so nicely asked for. I hate complaining, but this restaurant was not busy at all. I think we were her only table but the service was not up to standard. Overall the food was average.

::Schnitzel was very over done. Wanted salad and was 1st told no and then we can get salad with the schnitzel for R15 extra, which is not a problem but the olive oil served with the meal expired in 2018 and the balsamic in Oct 2019. Place has very poor upkeep. Kiddies section needs an upgrade and some cleaning/maintenance. I would not waste money or time visiting again.

::Being new in george I don't know all the restaurants yet. Drove past Texas grill a few times and asked around but people were negative about it. Me being me decided to try it out myself. Upon entering it does not look all that appealing. Furniture is a bit old and it's not all that spacious. Initially we were going to sit in the bar dining area for smoking but opted to sit outside on the deck due to the nice evening weather. It was not to busy and we promptly had a waiter. Unfortunately no white wine was not available and opted for a rose. Ordered a Sushi platter for starters which was on half price and was absolutely delicious for a steak house. Pleasantly surprised. We then ordered 500g T bone steak medium each. Was served with chips and onion rings. Portions were huge and made to perfection just like we like it. We could not finish it. Leftover the next day tasted just as good as if we just ordered it. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely go again. Thank you for the excellent service from the waiter.

::Texas Grill is more towards your 'affordable family diner' category. The food is good, the sushi among the best in George. Service is on/off. I've been there when there was fantastic service, other times the service was not quite horrible, but not good either. There are a few steps that lead into the restaurant, so not sure if it is wheelchair accessible. There is an indoor playpen for the kids with a staff member keeping an eye over them. The smoking area is outside on the veranda. Their cocktail selection is limited, but overall drink selection is good. Their is a wide variety of food available, and one or two vegetarian options. The sushi also falls under the vegetarian options for me. Take note that Alan's Sushi is situated inside Texas Grill, and technically isn't a part of Texas, but operates from within. The sushi is really recommended.
