  Recently returned to SA for a quick visit and had dinner here. Same amazing service and food that I remember from many years ago. Garlic snails and carpetbagger for dinner plus a great wine. Will return again in the future.

  I love stumbling across places that are unexpected and produce fantastic food. And Hillside Tavern does just that. Friendly staff. Beautiful and quaint atmosphere. And a chef who really knows his food. The fish was light and fell off the bone. The sauce was exquisitely balanced. The steak was possibly the best we've had in a decade...soft, tender, flavourful. You can see that they have purposely selected their product and cooked it too perfection. They set a high standard and they do it effortlessly. Stumble across this gem...you would think regret it!

  Great restaurant and wholesome cooking. I was impressed with the portion sizes too. Bigger portions than other dining places but at very decent prices. Great overall experience.

  Excellent cuisine and great service. Try the ribeye rump with carpetbagger sauce. Great selection of wines and really fabulous atmosphere. This is what Hillside Tavern is famous for.

  Had a great time at HT, food was great and service provided excellent. Was also quite busy for a Tuesday. Highly recommended.
