::William Cullen library is situated at Wits University (East Campus). It houses one of the best language & literature, arts and politics books.

::LOVE this library for the grand main hall, and the mystical 3 floors of basements, ala Ghostbusters in appeal! Just wish I had a key to the locked lowest basement, with 100+ years of newspaper collections... simply WOW!!

::Was thoroughly impressed with the team at the Historical Papers Research Archives. I went here looking for the record books of a mining collection dating back to the early 1900s. The records were well documented on their website, were well preserved and easy to find by the archivist. Unfortunately, I did not find what I was looking from the collection of archives in their possession but was advised by the team to try the National Archives.

::The architecture of all the buildings at Wits is simply drop dead gorgeous, that goes without saying. But the service that I've received at the William Cullen Library has left me with cold feet on more than a couple of occasions, and this library simply doesn't have the same scope of material as the Wartenweiler Library, which is not more than 100 meters away, has. Overall, my experience here has been average. If you are looking for African focused literature, are in African studies of some sort, or love architecture or fine art (particularly painting), then this library is worth a visit. Otherwise, your time would be better spent waling accross the lawn and using the Wartenweiler Library.
