    I have been a standard bank client for 21years and I can safely say that standard bank has worked its way down to the absolute worse bank. The service is atrocious. With my experience, the staff are more like robots than people who are supposed to assist. They follow a list of rules or instructions, and cannot work around anything that differs from the list Infront of them. Each person tells you something different,there is no consistency. Common sense lacks, and customer service is not a priority nor is it even attempted by most staff. I have found them to be impersonal, rude, uninformed, inconsistent, and inefficient. Going into the branch is of no help, as the consultants sitting behind the desks seem completely useless,apart from collecting paperwork and handing it over to someone else. They cannot assist in any way, more than I could do by myself. It seems that all processes of standard bank are handled out of the bank, and different people keep calling, making it very frustrating as one has to re explain the situation to each person. Everything seems to be loaded onto a system, so random call center consultants who have no idea what is going on convey messages. They also function like robots. In Standard bank, the right hand seems to have no idea what the left hand is doing. Very frustrating. Each person plays a great game of "pass the buck" . Standard bank makes no effort to assist a client, instead they shift the goal post and make any situation impossible to move forward with. They do not offer solutions, but instead continue to create issues with each new person you deal with. In business, time is money and although all the advertising campaigns tell of fast service and moving forward, I have wasted money and time with this bank, and I have moved backward, all thanks to Standard bank. The one star I have given, goes to the ATMs which always work and provide more assistance and logic Than the staff I have dealt with.

    Unfriendly lady at the reception/information desk gave minimal direction as to who would assist with our query. Waited a while and ended up leaving without having been helped. Creates a very bad image for the brand.

    No way to contact the branch directly, No one answers. 20 minutes bouncing around call centers to get nowhere. For easy business banking, go to Nedbank Business Banking.
