::Brilliant at everything. Clean everywhere, good food and friendly service. I have been there several times and always make me feel welcome.

::Visited Elangeni for the breakfast buffet, was impressed with the array of food on offer, although a greater variety of juices could be served. The food was good although I was not impressed in terms of hygiene. After a while I had seen flies enjoying the treats as much as the guests, had asked staff to cover the food which was not done. Fantastic views could take this rating up to 5 stars if management could focus on smaller details such as the flies and lavatory cleanliness.

::My stay 3 weeks ago was awesome. It was such a relaxing environment with a beautiful view of the sea.Breakfast was delicious and staff were great during check in and out. The fact that my room was ready and I could check in around 9 AM was a plus for me. I also liked that I found my room cleaned when I came back from breakfast. Only thing they need to improve is the WiFi speed, I ended up using my own data but overall it's amazing. I would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Next time will try other restaurants in the hotel as well as the spa :-)

::Great views - all the rooms are sea facing. It's just a pity that the housekeeping department lets the side down. Apart from the fact that they don't turn down the bed at night there are a number of niggles. For a room for 2 people you would expect 4 glasses, or perhaps 2. But not 3. One would have thought that the shower gel would have been filled before a new guest arrived. Having to ask them to bring a "do not disturb " sign is plain sloppy. I think the housekeeping manager needs a serious shake up. On the other hand the room was clean, there was plenty of hot water, and there was a good selection of TV channels. All in all, far from the best hotel I have stayed in, but certainly one of the best views.

::Always elegant, with well trained and knowledgeable staff. The restaurants are also a cut above from teppanyaki to well aged steak. Situated on the Golden Mile, the views may bring out your pensive side. There are many hidden gems in the area, but you must be street smart and aware of your surroundings. Durban may be small compared to other cities, but the people are incredible with a culture buffet at your fingertips. Roof top pool is also a plus.
