::While the cats they looked after were fine after staying at the cattery, I found the owners very unprofessional and this cattery is purely run as a commercial venture, with limited consideration for the cats. The day I arrive to drop the cats off, I had to wait 15 minutes outside the property because no one was answering the phone and there isn't an intercom. When I finally gained access, my reservation isn't listed and they have to check the system to find it eventually. Further to this, my allocated shelter is currently occupied and I have to wait a further 30 minutes for the owners to collect their cats and then have the shelter cleaned before I can put the cats into the shelter. Keep in mind that the cats have already been in their carrier for a while after a long drive and are becoming very anxious the longer this drags on. I made the effort of going to the cattery a few months before checking the cats in to see all available shelters at the cattery and was promised a specific shelter that gave me comfort it was sufficiently spaced to my multiple cats. Suddenly when I drop off the cats, this shelter has instead been allocated to a group of 6 cats, and I have been moved to another shelter. My view is that this was purely done to maximize revenue as no other unit at the cattery could take 6 cats and my cats were moved as a result, with no communication from the owners whether this would be acceptable. The owners eventually relented to give me the agreed shelter but after significant unpleasantries that made me uncomfortable considering I would be leaving my cats for two weeks with them. After spending a significant amount of money for this experience (>R6k), this certainly won't be an experience I'll look to have again and is certainly the worst experience with a cattery I have ever had.

::The cat equivalent of going to a fancy hotel where you get a garden along with your room. Frankly it's insulting that my cat gets to stay in a 5 star hotel while I'm roughing it in the windowless shoeboxes that pass for hotel rooms these days.
