::Medicinal malpractice seems to be the name of the game for these people. They say you can refuse the meds but then the nurses get snotty when you do. My fiance was here for two weeks and had NO form of improvement cuz they only medicate. The nurses dont care as they handed a patient a MEDICAL NEEDLE and then she caused severe pain to my fiancee.and then after the nightmare of being here she went for a drug screening and tested positive for a highly addictive substance which was never discussed with her. I would not reccoment this place to my worst enemy!

::My own experience in alberton akeso was fun , exciting and professional. I was in the young adult program. It was fun and educational at the same time The things they taught us in group therapy really works for me now as as an out patient . They teach us to never give up no matter what the world throws at you . And that suicide isnt always the answer and using drugs , cutting is not the answer but coming up with solutions like writing down our thoughts and meditating etc is the key . The staff there are very professional and are kind to their patients. The nurses the make u feel like you comfortable and safe . Akeso is a great place to be . The nurses there are nice. The food there is great . The occupational therapists are professional and kind . You are treated with respect and dignity. Akeso is like a home away from home . It's the place to be to get away from the real world . They give you advice that you can use in the outside world .

::I was in the Young Adult Programme and the Occupational Therapists and group therapy really does help. It's nice being in an environment where you can relate to people and people actually care about you. The nurses are really nice as well - like mother's away from home. I honestly felt better there than I do at home. I love my doctor and psychologist - they are the loveliest people and are really trying to help. The whole place feels like home. The administration staff and cafeteria staff still remember me and greet me when never I have appointments as an outpatient. It looks odd saying I miss being in a mental hospital but I really do miss it. It was my safe space.

::Less than 1 star!!! Where can I report medical malpractice? I would like to report the absolutely disgusting and shocking treatment from a practitioner. My elderly (81) grandfather lives in Olivedale and brings his bipolar son (lives in the south) every 3-6 months for an assessment and repeat script (something to this effect) Each and every single time my grandfather waits for hours on end, no sign of the Dr coming or even near by. The receptionist try contact him and no one knows where he is. This is EACH AMD EVERY SINGLE TIME! It is simply unacceptable to keep people waiting for hours and hours on end. One day he waited over FIVE hours and was told to come back the next day, to wait a further few hours before eventually seeing the Dr THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE Absolutely no respect for anyone's time, it is simply mistreatment to the highest degree, especially when dealing with mentally ill patients! I want to please be advised what one can do from here (to advise my grandfather what would be best) as this Dr clearly thinks it is acceptable to disregard people's time and in turn money. He should be getting billed for time wasted Absolutely shocking!!
