::Remember to pack at least two good books and a fully charged phone. Also say goodbye to friends and family as many of them of them will have died of old age by the time you leave the branch.

::Shameful service. Been waiting for 3 months to sort out a query, that no one could explain, but the bank is happy to continue deducting it from our account. Asked for a new account manager, and was brushed off. Promised feedback, and I am still waiting. Try calling the main number, and it continues to ring for days without answer. Tremendously despondent and considering other options. Thumela L Masimi made it clear in a telephone conversation today that she has a lot of clients to deal with. She doesn't have time for this. She is also not willing to take responsibility to sort out a query, regardless of being the manager on the account. Many excuses, no action. Wondering how this lack of service has become the standard that we live by in South Africa. Is this what Africanacity means? Really don't know how you will bring any possibilities to life. Shocking.

::Pathetic service!! Updated: Changed from one star to five star today. Fast and friendly service from Sydney!

::The ATMs have a wheelchair accessible ramp. OK. The ramp used to be designed that people walking towards the ATMs would trip over a low ledge and crash into an ATM or person using it. This happened to me, and fortunately I was not seriously injured. The security guards were very helpful. The bank staff were standoffish and rude. The manager refused to consider fixing the ramp and said that "nothing had happened to you, you're exaggerating". When I suggested she view the video footage, she refused, telling me to "go to the police station and make a case". It took a call to Absa HQ to sort the branch out - They had to rebuild the ramp making it wider and tapering it off (This also stops wheelchairs from getting stuck, which used to happen) The branch people are still bloody rude, though.
