::The Purple Shall Govern Mandela mural stands tall at 70 Juta, Braamfontein. It was painted to honour the 25th anniversary of the Purple Rain Protests held in Cape Town in1989. During the anti-apartheid protest march against South Africa’s racially segregated parliament, the apartheid police used water cannons with purple dye to stain the protestors for later identification & arrest This stunning eight-storey painting of Nelson Mandela has become a Braamfontein icon.

::The coolest thing about 70 Juta is a coffee shop called Post. What a great little spot. The guys running the place are super friendly and always helpful. Coffee is great and they are open from 7am might be 7:30 in winter. They have a great bacon, bree and pear sandwich. We have been going there for about 3 years. They have not lots any of their charm in that time. We wish them all the best and hope they are around in 20 years
