  The Backpack is the best place to stay in Cape Town. Make friends, go to explore the city with them, play games at the bar and enjoy the Braai night on Tuesday... I will keep so many good memories of this hostel ! The staff is super friendly, always available to help you. The breakfast buffet is perfect. The hostel is close to the city center and it's easy to go everywhere by uber in 10 or 15 minutes ! I really recommend this place !

  The Backpack personnel, starting with the owner who seemed to be ever present as she met, welcomed and conversed with patrons. The personnel were extremely helpful, the programs and facilities very nice, and The Backpack is clearly extremely responsible and yet most helpful of patrons as Cape Town goes through its drought. A really fun place

  Staying here was a wonderful experience. Apart from all the standard facilities being of high quality, it was mainly the community feeling that struck me. The Backpack does an amazing job supporting the local community, but also within the hostel itself you get a true community feeling. Arriving in The Backpack feels like coming home! Beautiful staff, great location and so much more! I highly recommend staying here.

  I stayed here 8/22/7 to 8/27/17. I loved this place. The hostel does a great job with everything! They plan events well, have great cookouts, the view of Table Mountain is great, and they are the most helpful staff I've ever had in my travels. They helped me book multiple excursions, even helping me fix an issue with a whale watching company. Breakfast was always a great experience, which is included in your stay. Everyone in the kitchen is always joyful and singing and the food is delicious. I would recommend this hostel to anyone, 1000x over.
