::Dr Nel did chest xrays and a sonar on my mother, unsuccessfully treated her pleural effusion through a percutaneous drainage and said to my mother that another procedure needed to be done to drain the fluid and yet nothing came of it. No follow up, no referral, no accountability and a total lack of care for the patient. Surely if you conduct the initial procedure, you are the one that should refer the patient? Also a little confused as to why a radiologist did not consult a cardio thoracic surgeon for a lung procedure...? 24 days after the initial procedure and after frustrating phonecalls with the oncologist and Dr Nel's offices we still do not have peace of mind and my mother is getting worse by the day. All these doctors do is blame one another. Both are to blame in this case. Malpractice is a real thing... One cannot help but get frustrated on the phone to hospitals. On hold for ages, confusion, Dr's making the receptionists act as firewalls so that they don't have to speak to patients and be accountable. So sick of horrible service from hospitals! The only thing they managed to get right was doing the xrays and sonar and emailing me the full report so that I can take my mother to another hospital. You can have 1 star for that.
