  Neat, clean and helpful staff. In walking distance to wits medical campus. Breakfast options for vegetarians could be improved, but otherwise a good experience! I recommend the vegetarian pasta, it was delicious

  Decent hotel. Quite old with modern touches. Good location. The service could be better though - except for the porters!

  Absolutely loved it. Rooms clean and well appointed. The restaurant was excellent of the best T-bone I have had in years. Thank you

  The hotel has a beautiful garden and the interior design of the entrance way and lounge is exquisite. The dining tables are more suitable for a cafe than a buffet setting. The rooms smelled moldy, the carpets were dirty and old. The hotel has a few iron and ironing boards. The kitchen offers a variety of food but the left offers are recycled and it's very obvious. The recycled food was often burnt.

  Let's start with the great: the food. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant are awesome. The pound and Penny is awesome and the food there is great. The bad: attention to detail is missing everywhere and two examples: In my room, the towel wasn't pick up by the people cleaning the room and at the bar, I bit of sauce fell off my plate and it was still there the next evening. The ugly: the room, jeez it is sparse and there was a random bar fridge just in the middle of the room. Biggest issue is the paint fumes from the renovations. They really should've closed each floor as the passages are being repainted. It is really beautiful and the atmosphere is great, hopefully with a bit of seriousness to customer obsession being taken it can improve
